New Bell Schedule
Beginning this fall, Jackson Elementary will have a new schedule of start and end times for the students' school day to allow for weekly staff collaboration periods. 15 minutes will be added to the end of the school day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, so that every Wednesday can be an "early release" day with students leaving an hour earlier. This change will not decrease the number of minutes per week that students are in school.

It is important to note that this change only affects elementary schools in Morgan Hill. The middle schools and high schools will continue the collaboration time and bell schedule that they had last year.

Kindergarten parents will receive their schedule before the start of school.

Collaboration periods are a research proven strategy for improving student achievement and overall student well-being that will provide our teachers more time to work with each other in grade level groups, across grade levels and from school to school to more effectively coordinate and implement student instruction.

Please see here for new bell schedule.

Teacher Wish List program
Teacher Wish ListThrough the H&SC’s Teacher Wish List program (en Español), each teacher submits a list of items that would be useful for their classroom. These lists are combined onto one document, which you will find attached, in the hopes that it will give parents ideas of what to donate for their children’s classrooms. You can also donate directly to individual teacher accounts. Please bring your donations directly to your child’s classroom. All donations, no matter how big or small, are very much appreciated by the Jackson Staff.

Accelerated Reader
Accelerated ReaderAccelerated Reader (AR) is a reading program in which students read books in their "reading zone", as diagnosed by the STAR computerized test. This zone is the independent reading level for fiction books.
